DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. More than 2400 employees work at our two locations Hamburg and Zeuthen in science, technology and administration.

The particle physics programme of DESY consists of strong contributions to the LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS, the Belle-II Experiment in Japan and to the preparation of future experiments. The experimental programme is enhanced by collaboration with a strong theory group. DESY is searching an experienced experimental physicist (f/m/diverse), who is interested in contributing to the ATLAS experiment at the LHC and to future particle physics projects at DESY.

The position
  • Leading role in ATLAS data analysis with focus on measurements
  • Participation in ATLAS detector operation or upgrade
  • Participation in the supervision of students and postdocs
  • Engagement in Research and Design for Future Experiment(s)
  • PhD in experimental Particle Physics
  • Experience in data analysis and software development
  • Experience in detector operations and/or development
  • Outstanding teamwork abilities and excellent communication skills and knowledge of English
