Through our professional membership and working with partners across the science and culture communities, we support and encourage people to develop their knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of physics.

We want exceptional physics and engineering graduates in the classroom, developing the next generation of physicists and engineers. Share your passion for physics and engineering. Train to teach. We are offering 150 Teacher Training Scholarships to reward the very best graduates entering physics teacher training in September 2019. Successful scholars will receive £28,000 tax-free funding and a package of exclusive support from the Institute of Physics. What’s in it for you? In addition to £28,000 tax-free funding, you will become part of a community of scholars with access to: Recognition: Free IOP membership for your teacher training year, including a subscription to Physics World. Community: Celebration events at the beginning of your training. Professional development: Networking events and educational trips for scholars throughout your training year. Influence: Opportunities to contribute to physics education policy. Who we’re looking for: Scholarships are available to graduates with at least a 2.1 degree in physics or a related subject such as engineering or mathematics.
