Job description: The Center for Superfunctional Materials (CSM), Pohang University of Science and Technology, funded by a Korean Government grant of ~$1.3 million grant/year for 10 years under the National Honor Scientist Program seeks exceptional scientists with high scientific capacity for several positions at various levels.
The Research professors can carry out collaborative or independent research at the highest level of scientific impacts, and can be recommended for tenure-track positions based on their performance. The positions can be offered for several years. Exceptional scientists can command salaries of upto ~$55,000/year. A room or 3-bedroom apartment on campus costs about ~$110 to ~$340/month.
Research Goals:
* Experiment: (i) Nanomaterials, (ii) Nanodevices, Molecular Electronics, (iii) Nano-Optics,
(iv) Nano-Bio fused systems, (v) Ultra-fast DNA sequencing
* Theory: (i) ab initio theory, DFT, DMatFT, CC, EOM, TDDFT, NEGF, DynMFT, GW, QMC, CPMD, AIMD, DFTB, QM/MM, KMC, MC, Meta/Hyper-dynamics, NEGF-TDDFT, Path Integral,
(ii) Theoretical and Computational Design of realistic nanomaterials, nanodevices,
Graphene/CNT devices, Light harvesting devices, Solar cells, Catalysts, H2/CO2 storage materials, Nano-bio fused systems, Ultra-fast DNA sequencing devices
(iii) Theoretical/Computational Study of Molecular electronics, Spintronics, Quantum information processing, Quantum optics, Attosecond spectroscopy/dynamics

Brutschy (Frankfurt Univ), etc. as well as several distinguished Korean groups including Prof. Jin Yong Lee and Prof. Byung Hee Hong (Chemistry,Sungkyunkwan), Prof. Yoon Sup Lee (KAIST), Prof. Ju-Young Yoon (Ewha), Prof. Ji-Hoon Shim, Prof. Young Min Rhee (Postech), etc.
The position can be offered by the director or in collaboration with another professor described above. The research can be done in Postech or other places including foreign countries.
